The ESTA is offered in three versions to support individual organizations to work at a pace that is compatible with their needs. Whether you are approaching the ESTA as a single individual who simply wants to learn more about the process of transforming employment supports, or as a group of individuals from an organization preparing to explore and discuss change and its implications in-depth, you will find that each version of the ESTA can be a useful and effective resource.
Under Assessments tab, you are able to navigate to each of the ESTA versions as well as various resources and tools:
- ESTA History and Background: a quick overview of how the ESTA was developed and its role in supporting organizations to transform the way they think about and implement employment supports for people with disabilities.
- The ESTA: the comprehensive ESTA, designed to take your organization on a team-based transformation journey. This version of the ESTA is available as a downloadable PDF so that copies can be made and distributed to all individuals participating in the ESTA process.
- The Mini ESTA: a streamlined ESTA that includes 2-3 questions for each domain. It provides quick results and is scored by the person/group of people completing the questions.
- The Electronic ESTA: a version of the ESTA that is electronically scored, with an individual report generated with recommendations and links to resources. The Electronic ESTA can be a great place to begin. It is a quick way to learn where your organization stands, particularly if it is completed as part of a team process.
- ESTA Domains: a link to an in-depth tool for examining your organization’s process, strengths, and challenges in each of the 9 ESTA domains. The Areas of Focus provide a series of thought-provoking discussion questions under each domain that will guide your organization in identifying its transformation goals and developing a comprehensive Workplan.
Before you begin with any version of the ESTA, we recommend you access the following resources.
